LOL!
Before I read the actual report I had visions of wide awake neighbours who can't sleep, because of light pollution from the house opposites Christmas display, hacking in to their wifi system to sabotage them ;)
I was just about to advise you to turn them off at night :)

I wish people wouldn't put those ghastly lights up outside their homes, especially the ones that flash on and off. Light pollution is the right term for them! >:(

We have a couple near us.
One does the whole front of his house with a whole curtain of blinking lights that flash so they look a bit like a huge purple waterfall, the lights all flashing in sync. Then there are other colours flashing as well plus a large Rudolph and Santa that flashes as well.
If you think of that Coca cola advert, you get the idea :o
It doesn't shine in my house at night, fortunately as I am set back a bit, but if it did I could see it could be annoying.
It's really quite pretty, he has a different scenario every year and the other houses in the close do a smaller version, maybe just one thing in the garden.
But every year this one house goes over the top and his house and garden is totally smothered in flashing lights.
;D

It reminds me of that film " deck the halls "

I've solved this problem by not having any decorations at all. It works surprisingly well for Christmas tree needles in the carpet, too.

You clearly live a long way from your neighbours, Rhi. Our neighbour's fairy lights (we live in a semi-detached property) has been known to affect our house wi-fi. ;)
