Hamilton in Silverstone F1;
Froome wearing the yellow jersey
England men and women doing well in their respective cricket series
Gordon Reid wins first ever men's wheelchair Wimbledon tournie; Jordanne Willey wins women's wheelchair Wimbledon doubles; Heather Payne is in the mixed doubles final; Murray about to winning the Men's Singles at Wimbledon
OK, not quite to the pinnacle, but Wales in the Euro 2016 semis ain't bad, either.

Wonderful final from Andy Murray and Milos Raonic. Andy at his best and Milos a worthy opponent.

We were rubbish at football.
Nothing else matters!

I am English not British. "Britain" is a Daily Wail/Pukip term.

Sorry, H, but the term 'Britain' predates the Daily Wail and Pukip by several centuries. Remember that the Romans referred to 'this sceptr'd isle' (Shakespeare) as Britainnia (from which the term comes) some two thousand years before the advent of the other two concepts; the 'British Empire' concept dates from the mid-1800s, and the term 'Britons' is far more accurate a word to desribe the people who live in the British Isles than 'the English' (or the Welsh/Scots/Irish).

Sorry that you are so narrow-minded, BR. Sport, in general, is far more important than the single game of football.

You are both English and British.

Football is insignificant.
