Part of me says that any Pratchett is good Pratchett. This is a great book. The other part says.....if 'Colour of Magic' from Sky was anything to go by, I'd better have a brick and a glass of scumble handy. Millenium hand and shrimp.

He's difficult to do on screen, I think, and that is as someone who struggles with him. Same is true of Gaiman but I applaud the attempt

I don't really think any screen adaptation could really capture Discworld - or the political incorrect nature of caracters such as Foul ol' Ron, or Nobby Nobs. That said, the Pratchett/Gaiman 'Good Omens' might surprise me. I live in hope. Bugrit.

There was a cracking (IMO) adaptation of Neverwhere a while ago. Looking forward to seeing what this is like.
-
I think Good Omens stands a better chance of translating to the screen than Discworld did - a lot of Discworld's humour is in the conceits surrounding the story, rather than the tale itself.
Good Omens - for me, at least - is more Gaiman's style than Pratchett's; being based in the 'real' world will help it come across better, too.

Dear Jim,

I quite agree but if the film makes more people read Good Omens then that has to be a good thing, it is a must read.
Dear Outrider,

Funny but I think it is mostly Pratchett, Pratchett at his best, he takes a good story and turns it on its head, he did it with Macbeth, Phantom of the Opera, he took every Dracula story and put his insane wit into it, who would have thought that the Vampyres would be Weatherwaxed, instead of craving blood they all craved a cup of tea and a plain biscuit. :)

Been enjoying it. Watched 3 episodes so far.
-
I've only seen the first episode so far but I have to say I think David Tennant and Michael Sheen are both really good.
The only problem is I keep seeing Tony Blair in the Asrael character.
-
I got fixated on Tennant playing a sort of evil Doctor Who, and now I sort of see it as an episode of Doctor Who where he gets split into his good and evil persona and has to work together to save the world. To be fair some episodes of Doctor Who with The Master/Missy have been like that.
-
I believe it's going to be on the BBC in about six months' time. I'll wait until then. The book was brilliant.

Finished it. Really enjoyed it.
