I remember watching him on Blue Peter in the 60s.

Oh dear, that is sad. He was presenter on Blue Peter when my sons were young.

According to Wiki, Noakes was bitter about  Blue Peter and his part in it.

I recognise him but was never a Blue Peter fan. Good to know he lived to 83 though.

A true telly legend & I can remember him wayyyyyy back in my youth, on Blue Peter.

Well no, not really. He had Alzheimers for many years before his death.
