Living as I do in at the epicentre of such walks, this will be the 18th since the election by my house, but by far the biggest. I am thankful I won't be here thus weekend for the celebration of badly understood bigotry.

My street is shut off in part every weekend between May and October. Sometimes three times over a weekend.

My sympathies for Glasgow. This blight on the landscape is Scotland's shame and pervades all too many of our towns. It isn't Christian It isn't musical It isn't cultural And it isn't 'loyal' to anything even britain recognises as british.

We had a taster of what Glasgow suffered on Saturday. The local cadre of sash wearing penguins tootled their flutes - badly - round some of my town's streets. The waddle started around 08:15 am - and lasted an hour, when, presumably, they got on a bus and travelled to infest Glasgow.

That used to happen when I was growing up in Greenock. Saturday morning at 8 in June and July, you could guarantee the drum and five alarm before they left for some other march.

Not only are the OO an anachronistic sectarian shower, but that blasted Lambeg drum's a hellish sound at that time in the morning.

Just to show a positive take on the participants

From what I can gather, the Iona Community - meeting this week on the island - will be sending people to the demo.
