Interesting article in the 'grauniad'. Frankie is making enemies. (https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/oct/27/the-war-against-pope-francis)
-
Ed Feser has been gunning for the Pope on his blog for ages. Right wing Catholic blogger.
-
Frankie is trying to bring the RCC into the 21st century, and that will certainly make the guy unpopular with some who wish to retain its unpleasant dogmas, like not permitting contraceptives.
-
One of the issues that really seemed to spark the right wing, is giving communion to divorced people, or people cohabiting. Of course, this goes on in many churches, as also gay people, and in fact, anybody. But the Pope is now actually saying that maybe this is OK, and the conservatives are gunning for him, calling him a heretic and all those nice things that they do.

The Orthodox Church allows divorce, and we are older than is the RCC :)

The right wing have apoplexy about divorce, contraception, cohabitation, and gays, yet have turned a blind eye to those priests who are paedophiles!

I am not going to be an apologist for the RCC, but it is only fair to point out that many of the allegations of abuse are not sexual in nature as such, rather, they involve mental & physical bullying.

So that makes it better does it? With each post you seem to be digging yourself a deeper and deeper hole! ::)

He didn't say it did.

He didn't say it did.
He implied it, even if he didn't mean to do so.

No, he didn't. He simply stated a fact. When replying to a post, it's generally a good idea to reply to what the post actually says.

It was my attempt at a sensible response to your implication that all the abuse claims are of a paedophilic nature.

And where did I imply all abuse was committed by paedophiles?

Right here:

The R C organisation has to be one of the easiest religious organisations to shoot down in flames, so it might be a good idea for you to shut up H W B and just keep a low profile on the subject.
