The bouncer said, "Sorry, I can't let you in without a Thai." !

Reminds me of something I said, in a different time (20 years ago), to an Indian colleague (wouldn't say it now but it came out spontaneously), in response to him saying both his kids, when at school, had part time jobs at Dixons. I replied, "I thought they'd have worked at Currys".
He didn't get it!
Seems dreadful now & I cringe, wasn't at the time.
