Hi everyone,

Here is something that is self explanatory.

Ten people have died in little more than two weeks after poor weather cut the climbing window, leaving mountaineers waiting in long queues to the summit, risking exhaustion and running out of oxygen.

The 29-year-old Indian had to wait 20 minutes to come down from the 8,848-metre (29,029-foot) peak, but others were held up for hours.

Cheers.

It is incredible that the world's highest mountain should have a long queue of climbers trying to climb to the summit. It is only in recent times that it was actually scaled for the first time, that we are aware of.

The only mountain climbing I have done is climbing to the top of Mount Snowdon on our honeymoon in 1969.

Unfortunately, it is apparently a money spinner for Nepal and the sherpas are quite well paid by comparison with their fellow Nepalese (although it is a very dangerous job), so it's unlikely to change any time soon.
