Just read it - sounds really useful for those genuinely lost.

Out of curiosity I just downloaded the app: it seems that my favourite chair is located at 'pipes.decks.foods'

Although I had noticed this thread, I had not until just now gone to the link. How clever, and how extremely interesting. I do not know if my very simple mobile phone can do things like download apps - probably not - but can I put it on my computer here? I would be very interested to know what three words are my post code!

You can go the the website: what3words (https://what3words.com).

However, unless your computer has gps, you'll have to enter a location by hand. The squares are only 3m square - so your post code won't narrow it down much. You can enter a post code, or an address, but it will just give one of the possible squares.

Thank you - that sounds a bit complicated! I'll just observe from the sidelines of life in a place where the chances of my getting lost are just about nil!

I now have the app on my iPhone, iPad and on my computer.

I am currently in France - so I have checked my location three word code for my French living room and my home in England. Since I enjoy going for country walks in both countries I consider the possibility of being able to give my precise location to potential rescuers a very valuable tool.

I am. however, somewhat disappointed to learn that the West Mercia police have yet to adopt it.

Would seem a no brainer for police forces to adopt
