This poor Iranian girl set fire and killed herself after being prosecuted for trying to get in to watch a game of football, dressed as a man.
It'll be interesting to hear whatever the Iranian authorities will have to say about this, if anything.
I think the whole circumstances surrounding this event stinks of extremely primitive ignorance, whatever else could it be?

For info Ippy is referring to this:
I wasn't referring to the BBC's presentation of anything.

I doubt that the Iranian authorities would say anything - just as the UK authorities remained silent, even tried to cover up, the death of a woman that set herself alight in a Barnet Council office (August 2018) in despair at her treatment.
ETA: correct date of incident.

pardon me for trying to give a bit of context. I will remove it and no-one will have a clue as to what you are babbling about.

I think Udayana is referring to this
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2019/sep/08/unlearned-lessons-death-of-woman-housing-mental-health-crisis
in case anybody is thinking "I never heard about that" which is what I was thinking. Both cases are pretty bad but it's interesting that I knew immediately what Ippy was referring to but not what Udayana was referring to.

Indeed.
