There are no words for this 'award'. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/iain-duncan-smith-knighthood-sir-new-years-honours-universal-credit-benefits-a9261581.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook&fbclid=IwAR2F7ePIwSFcadic1eJghG0QE8BX9Orb1uOLoG6P1Mjr3aLGhH46gJ3yv1s#Echobox=1577486066

Universal Credit was actually quite a good idea in principle, but the way that heartless twunt introduced it was disastrous.
-
So an award for heartless twuntery then.
No big fan of the honours system, but if we are to have them lets have them for ordinary people.
If you are a sports star, actor, singer, politician, business person etc.....then you will have had other accolades. Not to mention financial rewards.
Let the unheard of be the recipients if we must use such a quaint or antiquated (depending on your pov) system.

Have you ever used the NHS? Did you go through the British state education system?

Never liked it. Awards to the undeserving simply taints the awards to the deserving. In my eyes the Honours System is simply an archaic system widely open to corruption and bias and long past its sell by date. I would abolish it altogether.
As I would with the House of Lords incidentally, replacing it with a totally elected body.

I can see the place for an egalitarian honours system similar to that of France.
The insane, anachronistic mwss of the various honours and sub-categories thereof in britain demean the reason for the honour.

My MP. a puce-faced tory brextremist oaf called Mike Penning, got a knighthood in 2017. He was a junior minister for something or other, and did absolutely nothing worthy of an honour. I suspect that he got it as a consolation prize: he was kicked back on to the back benches at about the same time.
