The braille book I am reading at the moment is 'Serengeti rules' by Sean Carroll. I am only about a quarter of the way through, but so far I have found out about Walter Bradford Cannon, physiologist, Charles Elton, botanist, ecologist, and now Jacques Monod, molecular biologist who (with others) discovered how bacteria make enzymes. What an amazing man - I really recommend reading the Wikipedia page about him. I am quite shocked that I had never heard of him before, but the book is opening up a whole new range of science subjects and circumstances.
Anybody have comments on him? I shall be most interested to hear.
