Interesting to see if this is seen as having any impact in a UK election based on expectation of what a Labour govt would do.

The proposals would require farmers to commit 10% of agricultural land to be used for trees and 10% for wildlife habitat.
For some people who haven't got any trees or habitat - they're going to lose 20% of their land.
It seems a bit much to ask farmers to take 20% of their land out of production. I wonder if there is any allowance for overlap i.e. a deciduous woodland is already a wildlife habitat.
