Title: Scottish Independence 10 years on from the referendum.
Post by: Nearly Sane on September 14, 2024, 05:37:25 PM
This Wednesday will be 10 years since the referendum. It has been an interesting few years. I suspect independence has never been further away in that time than now. Anyway here's a film by Shauny Boy, whose stuff I have put up in the past. It's a longer more reflective piece based around an alternative history. It's brutal funny and brutally sad.

I'm left as ever by the wonder at the  argument that the Union is of great benefit to Scotland, and yet at the same time independence is impossible because it's an economical basket case. If the Union was so good for Scotland, it should be in an economic position to walk away but not want to.
