It doesn't matter. With the EU decision, everybody isn going USB-C anyway. In fact, it was probably always going to happen, although the EU law has sped things up a bit.

Yep, which is why I'm a bit surprised why there is any assessment being done on it now, given that I don't think this govt feels the need for 'control' the last one pretended it needed

No I mean any new UK law doesn't matter. Nobody is going to create special non USB-C models of their kit just for us. There's no advantage.
