Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Lists of what is needed and a search engine to find your nearest collector (scroll to bottom for latter) are here:  http://www.twam.uk/donate-tools

Yes Saw it on last night's news. Sad loss of another great entertainer.
But 88 though ?!!?? ;D

Who's left from On The Buses ! now? Is it Anna Friel, the wife of Reg Varney's character?

You're thinking of Anna Karen perhaps (Olive) - Anna Friel used to be in Brookside and is about 30-something  :)

I see they've recast Dad's Army for a film.

Who would you cast in a film of On the Buses?

.........we already have Anna Friel as Olive.

Sorry to hear he has gone.

However, I'd have to say I'm old enough to remember 'On the Buses' in its heyday: it was awful, and only surpassed in awfulness by perhaps 'Love Thy Neighbour' and Benny Hill.

I can remember it being filmed at the top of the road from time to time, when I used to live in London, Wood Green, N22, it was OK but not exactly top of the tree humor.

There was  coach/bus station at the top of my road very near to Wood Green Underground station, I don't think the coaches are there any more or the buses.

I'll make a guess Luxton and district had something to do with the "On The Busses" show never watched more than a couple of minutes of it now and again, I thought it predictable humour but not entirely without merit.

PS strange how we all differ about humour, I couldn't stand Tony Hancock and he was a well loved comedian, I couldn't even tell you exactly why I didn't like him apart from he annoyed me more than he made me laugh.

The best humour for me was Monty Python and there are large number that couldn't stand it Two Sheds, TheŁ5 argument", The Yorkshire Old Men, The False Hungarian Phrase Book, It's making me laugh remembering them, This Is Not The Spanish Inquisition, The Parrot, of course The Gas Man Cometh, J C always reminds me of the lumberjack Song,

Do you know something about the contents of his wardrobe that the rest of us don't? :)
