Mindfulness and pain relief

Just wanted to flag up this excellent book and website. I'm using this to help with back pain; in a sea of mindfulness books this one is the best I've come across for specifically dealing with how our thoughts amplify our pain and cause more suffering.

You're not wrong about the sea of mindfulness books; the ones by Jon Kabat-Zinn are said to be among the best - I have Full Catastrophe Living but haven't read it yet.
Pain, or damage, don't end the world. Or despair, or fucking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man, and give some back. - Al Swearengen, Deadwood.

The co-writer of this book, Vidyamala Burch, was taught by Kabat Zinn.

Danny Penman works with Mark Williams, the guy who taught mindfulness to Ruby Wax.

I think what sets both Burch and Penman apart when it comes to mindfulness and pain is that both have experienced catastrophic accidents. Reading the accounts of what happened to them is actually quite alarming.
