They also get them in the French Alps, apparently.

Sometimes you really only notice something if you come into contact with it.
An example would be when I was in La Palma and looked at the crescent of the moon.
It never occurred to me that the moon would look any different, (like it was lying on its back) instead of the position we normally see it in the uk.
So in effect you could have some idea of where a photo was taken by how the moon looks.
Seriously, I'd just assumed it always looks like it did in the uk.

I also found it odd the very first time I went abroad to a hot country in the summer, to find it was dark at 7pm.
I know it's common sense probably, but it still felt odd, coming from the uk where it was still light until about ten.
