« on: September 11, 2016, 05:47:46 AM »
This morning I am here, but for most of the last three days I have had the 'Internet Explorer cannot display the page' notice. can anyone tell me why?

I've had a similar experience where Firefox will not display the page but Internet Explorer will.  This similarly happens with Hotmail.

I use 'Opera', it's been trouble free since I first used it several years ago, 'Computer Which' said it was a good browser.

Could be lots of reasons for this. Things to try:
  • Delete your history (In IE it's in Tools/Internet Options)
  • Some addons can cause problems, so disabling them could identify this
  • Check your proxy settings. These can be changed by malware. (In IE it's in Tools/Connections/Lan settings)
I have an infinite number of belief systems cos there are an infinite number of things I don't believe in.

I respect your right to believe whatever you want. I don't have to respect your beliefs.

The tech chap who comes and fixes things for me will be here next week, so I'll see if he can sort it out. This morning early it was okay, then no access then I turned off, turned on again about half an hour ago and I'm back in. When it would not display the page, I turned on the laptop and it worked, but I find the laptop quite difficult to deal with.
