Let's hope the logging doesn't destroy their habitat.
They were the footprints of a gigantic hound!

I wonder if there will be a time where the only creatures on earth are humans and bacteria.?

I take it you mistook the primate for the archbishop because both the cleric and King Louie of the jungle book like to be known as the King of the Swingers.

Oi - lay off Lincolnshire.

One of my very favourite counties.

Hi Trent,

I'm currently at the end of the runway at RAF CONINGSBY enjoying the aerial activity . The Typhoons are awesome (and I don't use that word lightly).

Happy memories of my youth watching Vulcan bombers flying low over the fens. Wondrous beasts.

yes , another awesome machine, and that terrifying howl will stay in my memory . Such a shame XH558 the last airworthy flying Vulcan was grounded last October owing to lack of support from 3 major technical companies. If it were a ballet company it would probably get government financial support to keep it going. Very disappointing .

I'm looking at a superb photo of the Vulcan on our wall at the moment(an Xmas present), and it takes me back to a visit made to RAF Finningley, long before it became Doncaster Airport. I can still remember how my teeth vibrated with the power and the sound as the Vulcan took off.
Sometimes I wish my first word was 'quote,' so that on my death bed, my last words could be 'end quote.'

AN amazing place during the cold war. I grew up near RAF Finningly with my school directly under the flight path of the Vulcans , totally awesome , the noise will stay with me forever.

When I left school, I worked for a while at St Vincents, the house in Grantham that had been the control centre for the Dambusters raid.

Grantham is not flat!

A bit of Fry and Laurie...

Hugh - Certainly there is. I've often thought of putting out a paper on the correlation between landscape and business acumen.
Stephen - Great subject, Stu. You could set fire to some arses with a paper like that. The Institute of Executive Salesmen would go ape crazy on all fours for a theory of that sort.
Hugh - I think so, Gordon, I think so. Take my own case. Myself, way back when, my folks hailed from Yorkshire. You see? Limestone uplands, unforgiving moors and scarred dales. An uncompromising, beautiful, hard and wide nurse of men.
Stephen - But you were born in Surrey.
Hugh - The limestone's in my blood. You can see it in the way I do business. Where you from first off, Gordon?
Stephen - Lincolnshire.
Hugh - huh. You see? Flat, sodden, yielding, chalky, cautious, indecisive, always late for meetings ...
Stephen - Well Lincolnshire's flat, Stu, yes. But I wouldn't say it was always late for meetings ...

No. Cockroaches and rats will certainly outlast humans.

Well, you see, Wiggi is a Norfolk boy, like myself. Unlike myself, he still retains a peculiar affection for the great flatlands, and since his 'xenophobia' won't allow him to grant any superior qualities to other counties which are in fact very similar to his own, he feels obliged to pour scorn on those parts of England which are contiguous. No doubt he is similarly disparaging about Suffolk and Cambridgeshire :)
I could understand him having a go at Essex, though :)

This is true, but most of Lincolnshire is. Such a pity about Grantham - pretty town, birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton of course, and a certain political lady whom the world has more divided opinions about.

That is a foretaste of heaven, eh?   I'm eclectic though, I nearly said electric, I like Manchester, Fulham, Goole, and Oldham.  Ah, one day I will tell you about the redhead whom I chased through all those kingdoms.   The world is not ready for this.   Besides, the woman is dead, nice quote for you Dicky.

I too have chased (and sometimes caught) ladies in Manchester. However, I certain Venezuelan stunner whom I chased through Manchester, Altrincham and Hale evaded my charms, even though I sang Mozart to her.

They don't look too happy. Though they look as though they would make a very nice fur coat. Something I could do with in this weather.
