Utilities Gas & Electric?
« on: August 07, 2017, 03:51:47 PM »
When we buy most things in our shops we have a uniform measurements for most things we need.

Petrol is a good example and of course the diesel fuel too, I'm pretty sure we all buy these by the litre?

What, I wonder is the real reason each G & E provider presents differing ways of selling this stuff, I don't suppose it could be an attempt to bamboozle the general public?

I wonder why the parliamentary gas works hasn't made an effort to make the G & E companies standardise?

Maybe they really do require several types of tariff well O K, is it beyond the wit of the accountants they employ to set however many tariffs they need but all based on the same measurements, or would that make it too easy for Jo public?

I really do think these utilities should be made to standardise as I have suggested, am I on my own on this, what do you think?

It's a long(ish) time since I have received a paper bill for my gas and electricity. My recollection (to be truthful - vague) is that the bill contained a formal statement of how the thermal capacity of the gas was calculated and that it was a legal requirement for the supplier to include this statement.

And as for electricity - a kWh is a kWh is a kWh is a kilowatt hour.
