Depressing news :-(

It is indeed, Humph. Orhan Pamuk wa on Channel 4 news last night and you can't help but wonder how much danger he might be in.

how long does the rational world have to put up with these Muslim idiots ? they are a greater threat to civilisation than global climate change.

How do you suggest not 'putting up with' a belief system?

Why would you get banned for rational well thought out options?

BTW this rational world that you say exists, where is it?

The trouble is, we are both rational and irrational, and well, non-rational as well, I guess.  Therefore when we see irrationality in others, it tends to elicit our own irrational reactions, hence war.  I suppose the traditional rational approaches are via education and persuasion.   If those fail, there is always violence.

A strongly worded letter to the Times should do it !

Do you remember the Turkish coup of 1980? As I remember this was one of the few military takeovers in history that perhaps the majority of the population actually supported.
