It was twenty years ago today.......

On 11 September, 1997, Wales and Scotland voted for devolurio in referendums.
Both referenda resulted in a devolved future, Scotland having a parliament with reasonable internal authority, Wales a less powerful Assembly.
Since then, Holyrood had gained further powers whilst both the Lab/Lib and SNP administrations have governed her, and further powers are due to come into force in April.
However, Brexit may well mean a 'power grab' by Westminster - and a diminution of Holyrood's powers.
Has devolution been good for the UK?
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

England does not enjoy devolved government. The question, therefore, cannot be answered.
