Sorry to hear of this, Floo. You are doing a great job looking after your husband so well. Many women may not!  :)  Some amount of  impatience and irritation is only human.

Slightly off topic.....the fact that the doctors had a different prognosis as compared to what actually happened, shows that the Mind can influence the functioning of the brain and body to a large extent.....(which again shows that the Mind is different from the brain).

Not really. You can't say software does not exist if there is no hardware.  They both can exist independently but they work together and are interdependent.

It is well known that the brain develops according to ones experiences and ones Will. In other words, the Mind influences the brain. Your husband's experience is enough to prove that the mind can overcome even certain brain deficiencies.

So where does the mind exist if not the brain? My husband is still badly brain damaged, even though he is doing better than anticipated.

What the Mind is is not known. It works by using the brain as a platform is known (similar to software and hardware).  People just assume that the Mind is generated by chemical and electrical activity in the brain. This need not be so.

Well done to you, Floo, in looking after your guy with such a terrible injury.  I used to work in a stroke clinic, and they were all full of determination to recover as much speech and language as they could.   Many of them had aphasia also, but there are different kinds.  I remember that some lost vocabulary, and some lost grammar, and there are mixed kinds, but I expect the analysis has moved on since then.  We did endless drills with vocab, which was easy for some, and impossible for others.

So you admit the mind is created by the brain?

You have done an amazing job looking after your husband floo. It's marvellous that he's recovered as much as he has.

Come up with a superior testable hypothesis.

Whilst it is great my husband has made a much better than hoped for recovery, whether due to the brain damage or being in denial, he refuses to accept that he is so badly brain damaged, the problem arises when he thinks he knows better than I where matters of his health and safety are concerned. For instance today it was not safe for him to go out for a walk with the snow on the ground as his balance can be a bit dodgy. I had a devil's own job to persuade him that it was unsafe. Fortunately for once he did listen to my advice, but it was touch and go. I told him if he broke his leg, for instance, he would be in a care home, and I meant it as there is only so much hassle I can take!

I don't think he will ever go into a Care Home....    You seem to love him too much for that.  All this annoyance  is a part of the game.  :)

Good for you Floo! You are a good example to your children.

Heaven awaits (even if you don't believe in it)!  :D
