Following our brief discussion within a discussion, I just wondered which "era" posters liked the most?

My main impression of the "classic" era is that Hodgson was if anything, the jollier of the songwriters, Davies was the moodier of the pair(and he seems to have been pissed off ever since 1971). John Halliwell played a minor role in the band, yes he was the MC when they played live, but he never wrote so much as one word, or one note, and TBH his always slightly amused persona become annoying as the years passed, I was left thinking "Is he ever actually going to do anything?

Bob the drummer was as good at kick off as he is today, and Dougie Thompson was in all honesty nothing special, his replacements did the job just as well as he did. So it is surely, a choice of  Hodgson/Davies, and Davies on his own?

I know two of their songs.

As in WS Gilbert?

"I know two songs. One is "God Save the Queen". The other isn't".
