Yep. It shows the complete wrongheadness of allowing lobby groups to gain so much traction that these kind of laws are passed. It is in fact the opposite of the gun lobby in that they dont want laws passed to restrict gun owners rights, but the same priciple is at work. I dont even know how you can go about fixing such a dysfunctional system of government.  But then the same applies here-the disfunctionality, not necessarily the power of lobby groups. Although my feeling is that the power is probably better concealed here.
Before we work on Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we address the problem of natural stupidity.

This is outbloodyrageous.
So that article is 18 months old. It also misrepresents the intent of the proposed law (which has not yet been voted on as far as I can tell).

The intent of the law is to prevent corporations from joining boycotts of Israel. The rationale for this is to prevent them from being pressured into joining boycotts. So, while the legislation is, IMO bad, and, according to people who know US law better than me, badly drafted even if you agree to the idea, I wouldn't call it "out bloody rageous", just wrong.
