Never drunk vodka. On thr rare occasions that I drink spirits, it's single malt whisky (or occasionally whiskey).

Vodka is a top drink. Warm and straight. In the summer sometimes with tonic.

I enjoy cool white wine.

I like to think that the nurses will allow me the same on my final lunchtime on earth.

Bollocks to recommended amounts. Alcohol warms the old cockles.

One should NEVER drink and drive, however small an amount one has imbibed, as it could make you slightly less attentive.
Rubbish, a small amount of alcohol isn't going to make a serious dent in your driving ability. If it were a problem, you'd have to ban all sorts of things like driving with a full bladder or driving with a takeaway Indian on the passenger seat.

I don't think it is rubbish, anyway some people's idea of a small amount of alcohol often puts them close to, or over the limit.

A glass of wine would be a small amount of alcohol but impairment as a result for an average person is going to be minimal if any. The law recognises this, which is why the current level is not zero. There are many distractions available to car drivers that will be worse.

The excuse made by those who drink and drive! ::)

No, just trying to think things through rationally instead of applying blind prejudice.

Better safe than sorry. We will have to agree to differ.

Damn right. A glass of wine with food or even one or two beers after work ain't going to affect the driving ability of most people. There! We've agreed again...I'm scared. :(

Having experienced both, my judgement is that driving while absolutely busting for a piss is vastly more likely to be a cause of inattentive and therefore unsafe driving than driving with a more or less empty bladder but after one glass of wine with food.

Non-drivers on the roadside are fairly regularly killed by drivers, for a variety of reasons. If you want to be safe don't be alive.
