Should John Bercow resign?
« on: October 16, 2018, 01:29:45 PM »

While I am cynical enough to suspect that some MPs will use this to go after Bercow for long held irelevant grudges, in terms of what is reported it seems pretty damning.

How much is John Bercow responsible for the issues described in the report? If he is in charge of the body that the report criticises, I think he probably has to go.

The real issue here is that of workplace bullying, which I have seen many times in diverse occupations. Oddly enough, the only place where I never saw any of the same was in the Civil Service.

For those who may not know, FDA (First Division Association) is the mandarins trade union, representing grades from Permanent Secretary, down to Principal.

Workplace bullying is despicable, if Bercow is guilty of doing so, he should resign immediately.

But if he is doing a good job in difficult circumstances, would not the country suffer?

I remember Brian Mawhinney, apparently he was so unpleasant that his staff held a party when they heard that he was leaving the job in 1994.
