Wonderful actor - loved his films.

Brilliant scene in "In the Heat of the Night" when Sidney Poitier as Virgil Tibbs slaps the white plantation owner.

Quite handy with weapons - available for hire to defeat money laundering crooks around the world.

Sad to hear of his death, but what a wonderful life this great actor led. For me, it was the tense and nuanced relationship between Poitier and Steiger in  "In the Heat of the Night" which I found most fascinating.
Sometimes I wish my first word was 'quote,' so that on my death bed, my last words could be 'end quote.'
