Inflation slows to 4.6% as government pledge met
« on: November 15, 2023, 10:44:11 AM »
Well, good news, but other than being the govt when it went up, and still being here when it went down there's pretty much bugger all the govt has done here.

That can't be emphasised too much. When Sunk made the pledge, he pretty much already knew that he was going to meet it.

Classic politician's trick. He also promised to "grow the economy", but all governments, of whatever political colour, do that, unless they are extremely incompetent or have to deal with very unusual circumstances.
When conspiracy nuts start spouting their bollocks, the best answer is "That's what they want you to think".

While I think there are more complexities to do with growth than inflation from govt, pretty much. In the election, of course, Labour will be blowing exactly the same smoke.

Pinched that Sunak pic for use elsewhere.
