The cable car over the Thames is great. The views are just as spectacular as the London Eye and it's much cheaper.
Yup I love it too and the best and cheapest way to travel is just to tap in and tap out, although they try to sell expensive tickets aimed at tourists.

But that doesn't mean it isn't a white elephant - it was supposed to be a genuine infrastructure project for commuters not just a tourist gimmick.

That said I have quite a lot to do with the TfL folk and they were delighted when the cablecar came in as it allowed them to claim they did all four transport modes - road (well obv buses, bike hire etc), rail (tube, DLR, overground), water (river buses and ferry) and finally air (the cable car!!). Bit contrived but it makes them happy.

Contractors will still take the work, but the cancellation fees written into government contracts will be much higher in future.

How to make dithering look like decisiveness: a masterclass.
I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

Before we work on Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we address the problem of natural stupidity.

I had thought that nothing could top Theresa and the falling letters as the Tories have reinvented their conference as an annual cliwn convention, but last year's Trusstime did.

Somehow effortlessly they have surpassed even that by leaking their decision not to build HS2 to Manchester, denying that they have made it, and done all this while holding the conference in Manchester.

'Pause HS2 land sale, says government big projects adviser' - seems sensible until there is a strategy so obviously no chance of this govt listening.
