Bereaved family push for 'Celtic Curse' screening
« on: February 01, 2024, 07:46:53 AM »
My wife has this, haemochromatosis, and her uncle died in his early 40s in part due to it. I think it is in early life a beneficial mutation for areas where there is low iron in the diet. It doesn't usually affect women badly to post menopause because of menstruation. For men, 40s and up, so in general terms past reproduction.
