An unequal one in many ways. I'm hugely impressed by the skill set of Louise Bruder in the article but I think her confidence that humans will provide much use as a check going forward is misplaced, as is the idea of teaching children to determine and deal with deep fakes.
The deepfake quiz in the article is quite interesting. I managed 5 but that's probably just luck and knowing 2 of the pictures as being real.
