Shocking, primitive and perverse - I'd hope that sense will prevail but the Saudis seem quite happy to allow this type of barbarism while still being allowed influence beyond their border: the power of oil I suppose.

According to the BBC website 'crucifixion' isn't what it seems: 'Under Saudi law, the punishment of crucifixion to which al-Nimr was sentenced is actually a beheading, followed by the public display of the body.'

Not that this is any less barbaric.

Well they do need arms. Iran would love to control the country of Islam's birth. Arabia is a repressive nation, no news there. There never will be a secular Arabia guarding Mecca, that's just a fact of life, so we might as well evaluate our relationship with the nation as we do with all other, not so free nations, we trade with.
