I only occasionally use Twitter, and my tweets are more informational than opinion - so I tend to make comments about forthcoming events at TWAM or the railway - reporting their outcomes (Had x people visit the shed at today's Open Day; .... )
Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Lists of what is needed and a search engine to find your nearest collector (scroll to bottom for latter) are here:  http://www.twam.uk/donate-tools

What is it about Twitter that gets even the most rational people to make the most idiotic statements?

For some reason it's more dangerous than messageboards.

( dangerous in the sense of getting lynched for thoughtless comments)

Is it perhaps because it's a one liner that people fire off without thinking.

Twitter seems to have far more power to really upset people.........and get a reaction.
Because it is not rational it is a quick fire forum where people tend to react more emotionally than rationally.
