http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/video_and_audio/headlines/37021315My first reaction was negative as up to a point I think giving birth is something private although I accept midwives are there for safety.
My husband attended the birth of my two children, but I would never have considered my oldest child attending the younger ones birth. ( he would have only been 18 months).
My first reaction is that young children might be frightened by mum in distress.
However this four year old seems to hav been well prepared and many of us wouldn't think about them watching the birth of a spring lamb.
I think it's because it's mum and that a child may be upset at mum in pain, also mum can't give her attention to other matters.
Perhaps I'm just an old fuddy duddy, but I think children, if they want to see a birth should be watching a lamb being born instead.
For it to be their mum giving birth, it just adds a level of concern about their mum maybe they are too young for.
What do you think?
