I don't understand... what doesn't seem possible?
A lot of people don't believe that the loch ness monster exists. Now, I don't know anything about zooology, biology, geology, herpetology, evolutionary theory, evolutionary biology, marine biology, cryptozoology, palaeontology or archaeology... but I think... what if a dinosaur got into the lake?

That is this day and age this could even be a thing.

I tried to think of a better thread title but couldn't. Obviously the fact they can challenge the proceedings is great, but it should t happen in the first place.

Agreed. I thought that must be what you meant, but wanted to check.

Yeah. Incredulity leading to incoherence on my part. Sorry.

Rhi, I wonder how many times through modern history people have said 'in this day and age' in disbelief of a particular 'thing'

I  despair , after all we've only been here for about 200,000 years

We"re supposed to have grown somewhat over that period. Gained some insight, wisdom, compassion.

It seems not.
