Pagan Resources
« on: May 12, 2014, 01:11:19 PM »
Dear All

See the announcement about reference areas in the Moderation & Admin Board.

The aim here is to have a trial of having a separate reference area for the Pagan Topic in which information on resources (such as relevant websites and a reading list) can be maintained - the two existing reference threads have been moved here. All the threads here will be 'stickied' so as to ensure that they aren't deleted during routine database maintenance.

Please note that this area is essentially for reference purposes and that any discussions here should be with regard to the material that is being referenced here. Any discussions about issues in general will be moved to the Pagan Topic.

Was this board requested?

Just asking because the pagan thread is hardly super busy so why the need for a reference section? (not sure they will be happy about it being a child board  ;D)

Not complaining just curious? Can I put some fairy lore on it  ;)
I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

We'd had some stickies and thought it might be a way of making the place look a bit tidier. Back when you could see who was where, we had a lot of lurkers on the pagan topic so we thought that it was a good way of providing information for those not familiar with it.

Similar boards can be created on any topic. Reading lists are especially useful.

KO

We thought it was worth a try at this approach, mainly because on the Christian Topic sources than get referenced (bible commentaries and such like) are ofter mentioned but the details are in individual posts where they can get lost - so we thought that having these, say a Christian Reading List, on a resources 'child' board (like this one) would be an option so that we can 'sticky' any stuff like reading list threads so that they don't get culled during database Maintenance.

Since too many 'stickies' can be a problem of the busy boards (like the Christian) then a 'child' board is a better option but it isn't an approach that is used outwith the Mod Board so most posters aren't familiar with it - so we thought we'd set one up hanging off the Pagan Topic as an example. I did an announcement about it but it hasn't generated that much enthusiasm!

Feel free to do a reading list/links thread links about fairies on this Board and I'll 'sticky' it so that it is preserved for posterity  :)

Cool,

Thanks for the reply Rhi (which rhymes)!

Just being nosey  :)

Thanks also Gordon I think I will take you up on that.

It's about time these heathen anti-fairiest were put straight by listening to the 'truth' and acknowledging the evidence  ;)

I can't think of anyone better placed to give us the low-down on fairies.  :)
