Our intuition tells us that the future can be changed, but Einstein's theory of relativity suggests that there is no real difference between the future and the past.

Is this news?

Even apart from relativity - what would "changing the future" even mean? Only one sequence of events is going to happen (ignoring many worlds interpretation of QM) - how could we change it?

How does this view change how anyone feels or behaves? ie. does it affect anything? Does it help in deciding whether to take up, or give up, smoking or golf say?
Ah, but I was so much older then ... I'm younger than that now
