Tunisia terror attack: Families of victims await answers
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39109107

While on holiday this year, I met a couple who were going home early due to family circumstances. We were both with TUI and they had nothing but praise for them and how they had found them a flight home and gave support.

They also mentioned that a family member had also been at the hotel in Tunisia at the time of the shootings and about the wonderful support they had also received from Tui.
We were commenting on the good service they had given.

I'm not sure how these families can claim Tui are liable for security at the hotel and that they weren't told about the shootings at the bardo, don't they watch the news?

Tunisia is a wonderful holiday destination, normally safe.

Where is safe nowadays?

I was in Weston Super Mare attending something and an Australian was shot in the crowd with an air rifle, goodness only knows what he went home to tell his fellow countrymen about the place.

Things can happen anywhere, you can get killed at home.

When I went to Egypt security was so tight, that there was an armed man on every hill top, and look out post. We were escorted by armed convoy across to the Red Sea. All the boats had men with big guns, we didn't really mix with the people. ( in some ways it was too restrictive)

Tunisia was totally different, I think the risk was a lot less.
Part of the attraction was talking to the locals.

Some of them asked me about Allah and told me about Islam.

I never felt in danger.

London is dangerous, that Brazilian chap that got shot by the police on the underground.

Paris is dangerous.

Things can happen anywhere.

I don't necessarily want a list of bad things from the tour operator.

I know what "can" happen.

A woman was beheaded just after I went to Tenerife,  in a shop, doesn't mean it is going to happen to me.

You only need to know things that are likely to happen and Tunisia is about equal with Paris right now.

It was a very safe destination, it doesn't matter where you go, it can always be dangerous.
