Robert Pirsig dead

Memories of being 15??? I think and reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, vaguely getting some of it, missing most of it but with a lot of deep head nodding and chin stroking.

Me too, reminds me of late nights in undergraduate halls of accommodation, Pirsig's book something of a rite of passage out of the straight laced into the big wide world where nothing was certain and everything was possible.  A book of its time, and a remarkable achievement.

Marvellous book, I remember enthusing about it and buying copies as gifts for others (I'm sure they were delighted).
From what I remember there were two editions.

Glad Robert M Pirsig lived long.
