Not exactly a return of the old programme - but nevertheless it looks like an interesting take on engaging the viewing public with a number of scientific/health/ecological issues.

Looks like there's some interesting stuff but it seems to be reliant on existing programmes being rebranded as part of a "Tomorrow's World strand" to beef up the content.

Yes...I think Science should be re-positioned as a useful tool for a better life tomorrow rather than as a alternative to religion and philosophy..that it has hitherto been projected as by many people.

The British Humanist Association though insists that science is something one can build a life around. The danger there is that one reflects less critically on bad uses of science vis resource depletion, weaponry, pollution and cybercrime and terrorism.

It trusts to it for finding out how the cosmos works, not how to live life. Let's note that you were agreeing with Sriram that there are those who place science in place of religion and philosophy. Hence the various references to philosophy in your link show you were wrong.
