Can't do right for doing wrong
« on: August 06, 2017, 11:42:26 AM »
Quote
A husband's Instagram post about loving his wife's "curvy" size has sparked a backlash online about body image and feminism.

American entrepreneur Robbie Tripp, who describes himself as "husband to a curvy goddess", posted a photograph of him and his wife, explaining in a popular post that becoming a feminist taught him that "curvy" women could be sexy.

Probably not the kind of feeling-an-arse he intended:

Fortunately for me I have never been concerned about what I look like. I am just me take it or leave it. It is sad so many people are more concerned about body image than personality, which is much more important, imo.

Fully agree. All the emphasis on body image is shallow, superficial, trivial and is - in my opinion - not just bad for women (who suffer most) but damaging to men likewise, given that eating disorders in young men are on the rise.

With all that said, his wife is a right saucy bit of brisket, though.

I agree with you.

First para - what annoys me is the culture of posting personal stuff online forthe world to see. More people will see it than ever now wife has complained. Nothing is personal/private any mroe unless you're over a certain age in which case you don't put stuff online - because it exposes you!

I'd hate anything about me or mine to be public - if they choose to do it it's up to them but i wouldn't post anything about anyone. Only allow photos in particular circumstances but you can't necessarily trust others to keep them to themselves..

She didn't/hasn't. Unless I missed something.

Nope, she seems happy enough. If anything I'd say from the photos she's agreed to it.

My bad then.  I only read a bit, presumed the 'backlash' started with her.
Well she must be someone who doesn't mind having her photograph publicised.
Husband is nice to praise her curves, i don't see the need for publicity but if they like it, sobeit.

Hmm, I think there's a little bit of surrendered wife in there. But hey, they seem happy.

I'll have to read more to discover the surrendered wife, atm can't get beyond the fact that people are happy to publicise themselves.
Where do people find these snippets? I've only seen it here.
