Guid Scots meat for auld Englishmen.....
« on: October 19, 2017, 09:33:02 AM »
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I would be quite happy for Scotland to be totally independent.

I mean it.

 :)

But most of all I want to be independent of f cking London

Think I might have a solution, Humph.

Since Jim's link suggests Scotland had been exporting civilisation southwards since the heyday of Stonehenge perhaps we could assist further by immediately claiming Bromley for Scotland in preparation for the eventual breakup of the UK, which must surely follow Brexit - it would forever free you (and all Bromlians) from the clutches of London  :) :) :)

Not even Scotland, Gordon - Orkney!
The amazing finds there over the last decade show that the Stonehenge culture was at least very heavily influnenced by, if not even evolved from, that of Orkney, and that sophisticated trade links with Orkney at the centre, were very much in evidence in the second millenium BC!

Hmm I do know one Scottish family, but they live in Pratts Bottom (Yes they really do!).

The problem is that PB is more Orpington than Brommers. Still if London Ashford Airport can be miles from Ashford, let alone London, I am sure that the problem is not insurmountable.
