There is another case today of a heavy goods vehicle getting stuck under a bridge not far from where we live, causing traffic problems. This is a frequent occurrence affecting the bridges in around here, in spite of the height of the bridges being clearly displayed. The train station in the next village has the carpark entrance blocked when this happens, and on one occasion a few years ago the bridge was badly damaged and had to be repaired before it was safe for trains to go over it, and cars to go under it. As you can imagine this caused many problems and a lot of very frustrated passengers and drivers.
A driver who attempts to drive under a bridge with an HGV that is too high, should not only be prosecuted but have their HGV licence permanently removed.
Do others posters find this a problem where they live?
