Runrig; ploughing their last furrow.

After narly 45 years in the business, Runrig hang up their guitars in Stirling this weekend. I might prefer groups such as Capercaillie or Wolfstone, but Runrig are the bees knees when it cojes to Scottisg and Gaelic Folk/Rock. Thanks for the memory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ3xBv9RcJw

A friend of mine who will be there was posting about this elsewhere that when he first saw them play Glasgow University, it was the first time he felt comfortable about speaking Gaelic.

Yes....they made the language cool. I thought they'd die a death when Donnie Munroe left - but they were still pretty good. I loked their instrumentals almost as much as the lyrics, though.
