I've been struck by recently is how little funding local authorities get in return for being expected to deliver huge numbers of services. Not only social care; family planning, sexual health and smoking cessation clinics are often run by local authorities. The things that should make life brighter and better are provided by them - libraries, sports facilities, day centres - but the money isn't there for them.
I have no idea how control can be taken away from Westminster and given back to town councils and local authorities. Corbyn seems as wedded to the idea of central government as the conservatives do, if not more so.
