Campaigners rename Glasgow streets linked to slave owners
« on: June 06, 2020, 05:55:08 PM »
Living in the middle of the (Slave) Merchant's City in Glasgow, I have spent a lot of time talking to people about the history
I think we keep the names but educate and inform. If we change the names, then better changed to people of colour with some connection to the city like Frederick Douglass who spoke here, or McCune Smith who studied here.

History tells a truth and everything which shows something up should be left as a warning against what others did.
We know we have to work together to abolish war and terrorism to create a compassionate  world in which Justice and peace prevail. Love ;D   Einstein

AS long as they keep the traffic cone on the Duke of Wellington's head in Georges' square, then, hey, go for it......
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
