Is informing people of the legal framework and giving safety advice 'promotion'?  Sex work happens, it has pretty much always happened, burying heads in the sand and fainting at the impropriety of the suggestion doesn't help anyone.

That's true - my reading of the initiative (rather than the opinion piece NS posted in the thread header) was that it was aimed mainly at people working within universities who might encounter students who are engaged in this kind of work. And to provide those people with the information and tools to support those students.

So it isn't about 'promoting' prostitution at all, but about helping universities better support those within their communities that may be involved in sex work. The difference is night and day.
