I doubt it makes any difference to them. It's not their claim of religion that is the issue.

It is a sad but true fact that institutions of any sort are prone to being used by abusers.

My partner when he was younger worked at a residential home in London, Shirley Oaks back in the 70's that has also been in the news.

He is dumbfounded by the fact that he did not see or realise what was going on. It does show how well abusers can hide their activities especially in places dealing with isolated, vulnerable individuals where staffing, as ever, is done on a "just enough" basis and oversight becomes inconvenient/impossible when you are just trying to get through the day.

It's not to do with religion. It's all to do with the specific circumstances of an institution. Shirley Oaks had no religious component to it. Religion is not the problem. NS is correct when he says
